Premabhishekam is one unique film which featured ANR who was at the age 50 in real life as a youngster on screen. Furthermore, it also had him showcase glamour and dance for duets as well! It was made with those aspects like love, sentiment, sacrifice which are required in an ANR film and the golden trio ANR- Sridevi-Jayasudha executed it perfectly on screen with their brilliant performances.

Story Details:
The story of the film is quite simple and straightforward. Rajesh (ANR) is a happy go lucky youngster who falls for Devi( Sridevi). Their love story goes smoothly until one unfortunate day when Rajesh comes to know about his fatal illness. A distraught Rajesh decides to hide this sad truth to his love and make her dislike him- so that she would live happily by marrying somebody else. In this process he takes the help of Jayanthi (Jayasudha). Rest of the story is about what will happen to Rajesh and whether Devi realizes the greatness of Rajesh’s love.

Performances:
ANR is brilliant as the young hero even at the age of fifties. This film shows that ANR is brilliantly young at heart and it is reflected in every frame of his. His character has various shades- Happy Youngster, A person who is ill, a great lover , and what not!  Sridevi does a brilliant job as the lady love for the hero, and also a person who despises wrong doings and looks very glamourous.  Jayasudha is excellent as Jayanthi, who understands the agony of Rajesh through and through- and she proves yet again why she is called Sajaha Nati of Tollywood.  Her performance reminded the audience of the veteran actress Savitri of black and white era.Mohan Babu, Murali Mohan and Gummadi also played important characters in the film.

Technical Aspects:
The story writing skills of Dasari Narayana Rao establish the film as one of the modern love story epics in Telugu Cinema. His narration skills are of high standards and he executes every scene with mastery. Music by Chakravarthy stands out and every Telugu Audience loved to watch ANR-Sridevi dance for “Naa Kallu Chebuthunnayi” and hear SPB sing exactly like ANR in “Vandanam Abhivandanam”.
