He is married to Tamil actress Jyothika in the year 2006.he also began his journey as a television presenter with the Tamil version of “who wants to be a millionaire”.

Kamal Hasan has confirmed a movie with Tamil director Shankar who has been popular for directing “Jai Bol Telengana”. it is stated that the main reason behind his choosing this film was the one liners that the director has efficiently included in the film. On the other hand, Surya has paired up with director Puri Jagannath for a Tollywood film after a long time. Previously they were scheduled to work together in the movie “Businessman” but Surya was unable to act in that movie and that role went to Mahesh Babu.
