The Cinema of Andhra Pradesh also known as ‘Tollywood’, Telugu Film industry is a part of Indian cinema based in Hyderabad, India. Raghupati Venkaiah Naidu involved in Indian cinema since 1909, is known as the father of Telugu films. He produced first silent film ‘Bhishma Pratigna’ in the state in 1921. On 15th September 1931, first Telugu film with audible dialogue, ‘Bhakta Pralhada’ was produced by H.M.Reddy. This day is observed as ‘Telugu Cinema Day’ every year commemorating its release. Telugu films have been known for being commercially consistent, having an influence over commercial cinema in India. Tollywood have a long cast and crew member line, which includes many celebrities of the Telugu industry.
NTR popularly known as Jr. N. T. Rama Rao is an Indian film actor and an accomplished Kuchipudi Dancer. He is the son of an actor and Rajya Sabha MP Nandamuri Harikrishna and grandson of veteran Telugu actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Jr. NTR has made his debut as a child artist at the age of eight years in 1991 in ‘Bramharishi Vishvamitra’. He did work as child artist in till year 1997 in which his last cast was ‘Ramayanam’; the film won him the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film. His first film as a lead actor in Telugu Cinema was ‘Ninnu Chudalani’ released in 2001 and then he achieved a breakthrough in the same year through a blockbuster film ‘Student No.1’. Jr. NTR has been in 23 movies up till now of which 2 were as child actor and 21 as lead role actor. He won two AP state Nandi Awards, one Film fare Best Telugu Actor Award, and three CineMAA Awards. Other than an actor he is an ambassador of Malabar gold, Himani Navratna Hair Oil and Zandu Balm in Andra Pradesh. He was listed as 66th in Forbes India top 100 celebrities for the year 2012. He is also involved in politics. His present work was two films released in 2013 ‘Badshah’ and then ‘Rammaiya Vastavvaiya’ in which the former was a blockbuster hit collecting Rs. 59.8 crores.
Telugu Cinema industry is gifted with many classic directors one of which is Koratala Siva. Koratala Siva is an Indian Film Director and screenwriter was born on 15th June, 1983. Siva completed his B.Tech and joined as an assistant to Posani Krishana Murali who also happens to be his relative. Siva is a young, talented director who started his career from the movie ‘Bhadra’ as a dialogue writer. Hitherto he has done ‘Bhadra’, ‘Okaddunadu’, ‘Munna’, ‘Brindavanam’, ‘Oosaravelli’ as dialogue writer, while this year released film ‘Mirchi’ which was one of the biggest hit of 2013. The reports of his next unnamed project to release in 2014 have been heard, in which the lead actor to cast is Jr. NTR who is to join the sets of Koratala Siva from December. The director is putting finishing touches to the script and storyline. Jr. NTR to be seen in a new angle by DVV Dammayya in this action drama officially is tuned by Devi Shri Prasad.
