Power directed by K.S Ravindra and produced by Rockline Venkatesh starring Ravi Teja AKA mass maharaha has postponed its release to 12th September due to censor issues. Hansika has been casted as Ravi’s heroine, where Ravi will play as a police officer in this commercial masala flick. The expectation is already high for this mass entertainer as Ravi’s last film Balupu becoming a superhit. Censor Board of Film Certification has certified Power with an A certificate.
The film’s music composed by SS Thaman has already become a hit, topping charts. Reports claim that Ravi Teja was impressed by the script told by K.S Ravindra, finalizing Power as his next project, Y.V.S Chowdary was announced as the films first producer before Rockline Venkatesh but walked out due to financial problem. Cinematography is done by Arthur A.Vilson and Jayanan Vincent which promises breathtaking visuals. The film marks the beginging of Hansika and Ravi’s first collaboration, Hansika speaking to the audience through twitter said “My role would be very unique and something that the audience has never seen and she confirmed that the role provided her space to act and it will be a performance oriented one.
The film was planned to start its principal photography by November 5th but failed due to unknown reasons, the film was shot in Kolkata, Nagpur, Hyderabad and Bangalore and the crew moved to Bangkok for their next shoot. A car blast incident grabbed the headline, reports saying the blast happened while the film was shooting a scene in the forest area. The film was at first planned to release worldwide on June 2014, but it was postponed to August 2014 due to the delay in shooting schedules. The overseas distribution rights were acquired by Cinegalaxy, Inc and Asian Movies together which was confirmed through press release. The film release was again postponed to September 5, 2014 to avoid clash with Rabhasa Directed by Santhosh Srinivas. Power Nizam sold their distribution rights for 7.5 crore’s to Dil raju. Andhra Pradesh distribution rights were sold for Rs 12.5 crore and film’s overseas distribution rights were sold for 2.5 crore. Power’s pre release profit is around 32 crores which includes satellite and music right business. The movie’s total budget is around Rs 30 crore. K.S Ravindra also known as Bobby will be making his directional debut with Power. Bobby has been an associate to successful directors like Dasaradh and Gopichand Malineni, Ravi worked with Bobby in the film Balupu where Bobby worked as a scriptwriter.
Ravi Teja is known for his role in mass entertainers making him a audience favorite with his action, song and romantic scenes.Regina Cassandra also plays a secondary role to Hansika, In an interview with The Times Of India Regina said It’s a really big project for me which I’m quite excited to work on . I love experimenting with my films and with power I have got a chance to do something totally different in terms of my appearance in Power”.
