The world of Telugu movies again faced a dark and gloomy day on Monday as the ace music composer Chakri Gilla passed away. Suffering from a major heart attack he lost his life just at the age of 40.

 

Chakri was suffering from obesity disorder due to which he faced the heart attack. His spouse Shravani tried to wake him up around 6:30 am. As he did not respond to her callings, she became tensed and took him to the Apollo Hospital which is located in the Jubilee Hills. The doctors tried to regain him back but they failed to do so. Around 7:45 am he was declared dead. This shook his family, friends and the whole industry.

In Kambalapalli Mahabubabad, Warangal district of Telangana Chakri Gilla was born in 15th June,1974 . He have four siblings’ one brother and three sisters. With few private albums he started his venture and he got a break with Puri Jagannadh’s Bachi. He composed music for a series of successful movie projects. Over 85 films’ music are composed by him. He earned fame from this creative masterwork. He gained love from the audience and the critics as well. Many singers, technicians and lyricists got a break just from him. He introduced them into the world of Tollywood. In the Memu Saitam event he was spotted singing. His last venture was Erra bus. Shravani is Chakri’s wife was a native of Godavarikhani.

 

His works

 

Few of his famous albums include “Shivamani 9848022338,” “Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi,

“Desamuduru,” “Idiot,” “Maska,” “Devadasu,” and “Simha”. In his last film “Erra Bus,” Vishnu Manchu and Dasari Narayana Rao played role. Few of his compositions are about to be released.

 

Awards

 

Chakri Gilla received numerous awards and accolades for his remarkable works. He achieved Nandi award for Balakrishna’s “Simha”. He also bagged the Filmfare Award for the Best Male Playback Singer for the Telugu film Satyam. The song “O Maguva Nee Sneham Kosam” brought him into the limelight.

In the month of January he received the major number of hit tracks. January is the auspicious time for Sankranthi. It is the festival season in Andhra Pradesh and it indeed brought great luck to him. It is due to the hit movies composed by him like Devadasu (2006), Desamuduru (2007), Krishna (2008) and Maska (2009). For consecutive four years he gained a good position in the chartbusters. Ravi Teja and director Puri Jagannadh worked with him in ten films. He gave great musical hit tracks to them. Many of the famous Tollywood tweeted after they heard the sad news of his demise.

 

Varun Tej tweeted “Just woke up to some bad news. Demise of music director Chakri Garu…you’ll always live through your music. RIP.” Priya Mani also tweeted that “Very sad to hear the demise of #chakri garu!!!Had the opportunity to dance to his tunes in #Golimaar (thoughts n prayers to his family.”

 

The sudden news shook his wife and children and the whole Tollywood industry will always be grateful for his contributions.
