Rajinikanth’s Lingaa rocked the whole Tollywood with its box office collection. On Friday the film was released and it received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics. K.S Ravikumar anticipated that Lingaa received Rs 16 crores on the very first day in Tamil Nadu. Although the box office collection is not announced officially. Vijay’s Kaththi movie’s record have been broken by Lingaa. Although the estimated collection might differ a bit but the industry people of the South are too sure about its gross day one collection.
Lingaa is also doing well in abroad. ATMUS Entertainment which is the distributor of Tamil movies inthe US stated that Lingaa bagged the 7th highest Tamil grosser in the US. He also says that it will soon reach the 5th place. It is the latest project of the ace star Rajnikanth. After the blockbuster hit movie Kochadaiiyaan, Rajinikanth signed the movie. K.S. Ravi Kumar directed the movie. His last movie was directed by his daughter Soundarya only. Lingaa is also written by the famous director only. Again Rajnikanth will be seen playing the double role. For the third time in his career Rajinikanth will be seen playing double characters. In the movies, Robot and Kochadaiiyaan Rajnikanth played dual roles. Miss World Aishwariya Rai Bachaan was opposite Rajnikanth in Robo and Kochadaiiyan featured the famous Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.
Casting of Lingaa
Rajinikanth plays double roles in the movie Lingaa. The daughter of Shatrugan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha is palying the leading female role in the movie. Sonakshi confirmed about the project this August to the Press. Anushka Shetty is the other female actress in the movie.
Music direction of Lingaa. A.R. Rahman composed the music of the film Lingaa. A.R. Rehman is directing music for Rajnikanth for the fourth time. Previously he did Shivaji, Robo and Kochadaiiyaan for Rajnikanth . The musical ventures were super hit and received great accolades.
Audio release
On 16th November, 2014 the audio was released at Chennai. The audio was unveiled by Rajnikanth. The arrangements were organized by Rockline Venkatesh.
Production of the movie
Rockline Venkatesh is the producer of the venture. The Tollywood movie Power is also produced by Rockline Venkatesh. The movie casted Mass Raja Ravi Teja Hansika and Regina Cassandra.
Melukote, Manuvana , Chamundi Hills, Mysore Palace and Pandavapura are the locations were the film was shot. On the residential location of the palace the life was shot. A scene was also shot at the Jog Falls. For the shooting of the film Annapurna Studios was sued. For two months the sets of Ramoji Film City Hyderabad was used. A news was also spread that Rajnikanth’s health deteriorated in the sets and he fainted. Then also he boastfully played his character for the film. Two of the songs for the film were shot at Chennai and Scotland also. 10 million is spared for the climax if the movie. After crossing all the difficulties the movie is running well in the box office and the critics are waiting for the final collection results.
