Nithiin bears the losses of Akhil being a flop

A flop film is not just bad for the director’s morale and career. Nowadays, it is more disastrous for the producers. Because of the new rules, producers are now under severe pressure and they want to ensure that the film is going to be super-hit and their money will be repaid surely. But, sometimes, things do not go as planned and then, the producers are in severe trouble. Similar is the case for Nithiin and Sudhakar Reddy. They had produced the film Akhil, the debut film of Akhil Akkineni. But, the film has flopped dismally and that has left the producers in neck-deep water. They are facing the consequences more than the director.Nithiin bears the losses of Akhil being a flop

The film chamber rule

Recently, a vicious rule has been passed in Film Chamber, making the producers’ life more difficult in general. If the distributors incur huge amount of loss, then the producer will have the liability to bear that. That puts the producers in an awkward position since the money must be given in order to ensure any future in the film industry for them. This rule has already hit a few producers. Sudhakar and Nithiin are its recent victims. The trade reports reveal a very harrowing statistics. It says that the producer duo may have to pay a staggering 20 Crore if they are to overcome this situation. The amount of the money has forced the producers to resort to a solution immediately so that they can get out of trouble.

Previous cases and repercussions

MS Raju has already been a known victim of the rule. Recently, he had to succumb to a 7 crore worth payment to his distributors like Pournami, Aata. It was because of his failed production attempt. But, he was unfortunate enough to not to be able to make the payment. This incident has put him out of the orbit and distributors have now refused to accept films produced by him. As long as he doesn’t clear the balance, he will be in this state. So, the industry has become harsher and now, the producer duo is feeling the heat. Moreover, the sum of payment is even bigger in this case, which is going to be another problem.

The situation currently

Akhil had a problem from the beginning since the film, even before it was released, had a deficit of a whooping 10 crore. While the producers played a risky hand, it did not come off. Rather it backfired as they also incurred a loss of another 10 crore after the release due to box office disaster. As the box office is no longer the source to look up to, Sudhakar Reddy and Nithiin are now searching for a new solution somewhere else. While nothing is certain as of now and their future hangs in the balance, the industry is showing how the business of the films has now become more important than anything else. So, it is director’s as well as producer’s challenge to ensure hits after hits to avoid such situations.
