An action film by its genre, JANATHA Garage is a bilingual cinema in Malayalam and Telugu languages. KORATALA Siva has conceived and directed the cinema, while NAVEEN YERNENI has shouldered the task of producing the movie. EROS international can co-produced this film that is scheduled to hit the theaters on 1st September. MOHANLAL, NTR Junior, NITHYA MENON and SAMANTHA RUTH PRABHU have been casted in the lead roles of this film. A special dance number of this movie will cast Kajal Aggarwal in a special appearance.
The production of the film started at Hyderabad on 25th October 2015 and it was on 22nd of February 2016 that the Principal photography started. The music of this cinema was publicized on 12th of August 2016.

It was during the month of July, the last year that rumors broke up stating the possibility for pairing of NTR and KORATALA Siva, once the actor completes the shooting for the film NANNAKU PREMATHO and the director completes the assignment of directing SRIMANTHUDU. It was during the first week of October 2015 that it got reported that the project will kick start by 25th October, 2015. The makers have an initial announcement on the release of the movie as on 12th August 2016. However, at a later stage, the release was postponed till 2nd September 2016. However, there was a last minute adjustment on the release date that was scheduled for 1st September 2016 as a probable All-India strike has been scheduled on the 2nd of September 2016.
Rumors have always associated the pre-production and production stages of this movie. Last year during the month of October, there was a sensation in the market, for the possibilities for AMRYA DASTUR, casting as one of the heroines of this movie. During November, another rumor floated up regarding the consideration of the makers about SAMANTHA RUTH PRABHU as well as PARINEETI CHOPRA as the females leads with NTR. There came a sensation by the end of November while the makers confirmed that Mohanlal has consented to be a part of this project. The usual shooting for this movie was initially scheduled to commence from 9th of February 2016. The brilliance of eminent art director AS PRAKASH was instrumental in erecting a massive shooting set at the Hyderabad-based SARADHI Studio with the onset of January 2016. Hyderabad, Kerala and Mumbai got picked as the main shooting zones for this film. The date of release was changed several times before the final date schedules for 1st September
The makers of this movie initially held the plan to go for the release as on 12th August 2016. However, at a later stage there came the announcement that the release has been postponed till the 2nd of September. However, even this date was changes afterwards and finally; the movie is going to hit the theaters on 1st September.
There were much of brainstorming and rumor as the release date was changed so many times. Though the makers never expressed the reasons as what made them to changes the release date number of times, the critics and expert floated their own thoughts and convictions on the probable reasons beyond the changes for the release date. Films like CHUTTALABBAYI and AATADUKUNDAM RAA that hit the theaters the last week, failed in impressing the mass as well as the critics.
