July 17, 2013

Previously the singers and the composers faced a lot of setbacks with the piracy issues. The piracy being a big issue and the composers and singers finding it tough to cripple it down, the music industry of the Kollywood, is recently facing with the next big issue- fake contract signing leading to stealing of royalties that the composers were supposed to get. This has really become an issue of the hour. The composers and singers are all up against the producers who are doing this evil practise. The issue is already moved in to the Writers union.

The composers state that the issue has come about when some of the producers force the composers to sign in an extra clause in the contract where in they would be paid in advance some remuneration for their work, which in actuality never happens. The labels totally dry of their of hands when such claims fall at their desk, which actually lead the composers in deep blue sea, as they cannot highlight or publish their works in their own blogs under their brands.

When dunged deep we found a different view from the two ends of conflict. While the composers say that these clauses in agreement are in actuality taking away their rights from the album signature and primarily only promoting the albums, while the producers are of the view, this type of clause are being done only to safeguard the albums against any piracy, and there are no issues to hurt the interest of the composers.

Some of the notable lyricist and composers who are leading the voice of revolt are Yugabharathiand Thamarai. This really marks in some haunting days in the music industry of Kollywood, as the upcoming musicians are the ones who will be most affected by it. So, let us check who wins the battle of the tiff at the end.
