It was the year 1971. Bapu-Ramana’s Sampoorna Ramayanam’s filming has been going on in Madras at a full swing. There were nearly 150 people working on the set for the film. The clock ticked 5PM. Veteran actress Jamuna who played the pivotal role of Kaika received a call from her residence. After the call she immediately went to meet the witty writer Ramana. She said , “Ramana garu, I got an urgent phone call from home!”. A concerned Ramana garu enquired what exactly happened. Jamuna replied,” Sir, my son is insisting on going to the beach! I have to leave immediately!”. She even got ready to remove her makeup and leave for her residence. Ramana stopped her saying, “See Jamuna garu, if you wouldn’t leave now, your kid might cry for half an hour and then forget about it. But if you leave, my son would be crying for the next 25 years! Please think about what I said.”
Though Jamuna was slightly offended by this statement, she realized the gravity of the situation about the set and number of artists working there. Ramana himself expressed his thought many times saying that being a producer of a film, he had to apply some pressure on the lead artists to get shooting done smoothly!
