B.Tech Babu(Rana) is a young lad who wants to go to US for higher studies and settle there, Rana is an Orphan and is brought by Kota, who is member of Surabhi Drama Company. Rana does some key roles in the dramas with his grandfather. His grandfather is against his wish. He wants Babu to perform eventually in a drama named, "Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum" written by him in Bellary. Devika (Nayanatara) is a TV journalist who comes to Bellary to shoot a documentary on mining mafia. What happens after that? What changes Babu and what he learns in his journey is what the movie is all about.
Rana who had no success at the box office since his debut had pinned high hopes on this movie. The movie was promising before the release as it is being directed by Krish who had very good reputation among A class audience. But after its release, the movie could not reach the expectations and remained as average at box office.
Rana’s acting got good accolades in various sections of the audience.
This is the first movie of Rana and Krish combo.
“Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum” is the first releases of Nayantara post her break up with Prabhudeva. She had announced her retirement with Sri Rama Rajyam but began her second innings after the break up.
The movie indirectly targeted the mining mafia of Gali Janardhan Reddy in Karnataka with the movie.
Rana and his uncle Victory Venkatesh had danced for the item number of the movie, “Sye Andre”. This is their first appearance together on screen.
Sameera Reddy had danced for the item number, Sye Andre in the movie. This was her first appearance in Telugu after a long time (Her last appearance was in Chiranjeevi’s “Jai Chiranjeevi” in 2005).
Rana Daggubati hurt his jaw during the shooting of an action scene of the movie.

The Censor Board had issued 14 cuts to the movie and asked to reduce the violence in the movie by 50%.
There is a 9 minute song in the movie penned by Siri Vennela and composed by Mani Sharma. The song appears in bits in the movie.
