Alvin Martin (Milind Soman), an NRI businessman tries to sign a deal with AP government but fails due to Health Minister's intervention. As a revenge, he hires Alex (Karthi) for 10 Lakh to kidnap Health Minister's daughter, Divya (Anushka). Later, Alex comes to know about the story behind and helps Divya. What happens next and what are the reasons for the change in Alex forms the rest of the story.
Karthi is known to be a soft star and looks like he decided to shift gears with a mass entertainer. This is completely a new area for him and despite his best efforts, his acting seem to have gone overboard in many scenes. Due to poorly written scenes, he didn't appear comfortable in comedy scenes too. Anushka is totally underused in the movie and is dedicated only to the songs.
Santhanam’s caliber is poorly projected again due to substandard scenes. Renuka as Santhanam’s mom has delivered a decent performance. Sanusha and Nikitha Thukral as Santhanam’s sisters made modest performances. Some good actors like Milind Soman, Suman and Mahadevan are totally underused.
Every director has his own style and strength. When they have few successful movies in their style, then it gradually becomes his trademark. Suraj, who has earned reputation for his comedy movies, for the first time tried his hand in a mass entertainer.
It's a wrong notion that mass entertainers are easy to make. It is not about stuffing of punch dialogues and fights and calling it a mass entertainer. They work out only when they are combined with good screenplay and gripping narration. Suraj has completely missed that part and it finally resulted in a not baked (Mark it, not even half baked) product.
All the songs delivered by Devi Sri Prasad are good to listen and are decently shot too. But the effort is totally squandered by poor placement. The back ground score is good too.
Sarvanan's photography is excellent. The technique shown in the train action sequence requires a special mention. Editing by Praveen-KL Srikanth is very bad. After the movie was dubbed into Telugu, the movie was cut down by 20 minutes which didn’t help the fate of the movie.
A complete let down stuff by Karthi. To describe it in one line, there are no 'good' things about this 'Bad Boy'. Dubbing such disastrous movies in to Telugu and releasing it on a grand scale will only deter his hard earned market in Telugu.
