Gaganam story at a glance
The story of Gaganam is all about a flight from Chennai to New Delhi. Terrorists hijack the flight mid air and threaten to blast it if their demand of releasing a dreaded terrorist is not met with. The crux of the story is about how Viswanath, National Home Secretary negotiates with terrorists and how Ravindra (Nagarjuna), National Security Commando leader completes the operation of saving the passengers on the flight.

Somehow the movie carried very low expectations since the start as the makers projected it as an experimental film. The film was break even for the producer with the satellite rights of both Telugu and Tamil versions. -
Highlights
- This is the first time Radha Mohan directing a star like Nagarjuna.
- This is only the second time Dil Raju producing a movie on his Matinee Entertainments banner other than his usual Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.

- The movie is a bilingual made in Telugu and Tamil. Prakash Raj is the producer of the Tamil version.
- The movie unit first considered Gaganam, Payanam and Wanted as the titles of the movie. They selected ‘Gaganam’ finally through an opinion poll by fans through a popular film magazine.
