CI Shankar aka Encounter Shankar is a specially deployed cop to the crime-stricken town of Bukkapatnam. Dhamu (Sonu Sood), Officer Mallikarjun Rao (Aashish Vidyarthi) and MLA (Vineet Kumar) are the bad gang feeding on the town ploying for a Power Project. How did Shankar put a check to the villain gang, avenge his brother’s loss and reunite with his father Raja Ram (Rajendra Prasad) forms the plot of the story.

Mahesh Babu: He is the Showstopper! He leads this entertainment wagon with Performance and Panache! His dialogues, action, comedy and entire characterization are Khallas! His dances in this film are the additional highlights and feast for fans. [To describe him…words NO MORE!]

Tamannaah: She was gorgeous in the film and drop-dead gorgeous in the songs. To know more of this “Sweetshop Saroja”, watch the film!

Sonu Sood: He was menacing in his looks as ‘Dhamu’, the lead baddie. Well, don’t presume he’s one dumb head ready to eat punches. He has some surprises in his kit and some punch dialogues in the film that might remind you of some real life incidents!

MS Narayana: His characterization Data Danayya is unique and useful for the script too. He is a delight to watch.

Nassar: He is yet another treat to watch in the film. He was a true entertainer as Dakshina Murthy. Kids will love him the most.

Brahmanandam: Brahmi makes a late yet latest entry in the film. His scenes with Mahesh Babu are hilarious. He is the ray of hope in the second half [You have Options…NO MORE!]

Posani: We should say he is the POTUGADU of First Half. You should second us when you watch the film [We have Adjectives…NO MORE!]

The rest of the star cast including Thanikella Bharani, Brahmaji, Vennela Kishore, Prabhas Srinu, Raghu babu, Satya Krishna, Rao Ramesh, Aashish Vidhyarthi et al give their best to this entertainer.

Well talking about Srinu Vaitla’s direction, this is yet another pancake from his pan [Remember, the cake always takes the shape of the pan]. He has a formulae and he is a master at dishing out recipes with various flavors and names but the same ingredients. We have directors’ actor but Srinu Vaitla is fans’ director. Keeping aside accusations of resemblances with Gabbar Singh and Dookudu, Aagadu is a Punch-packed entertainer. After all those punches in the film, probably we have punches…NO MORE left! But all those punches work because it is Superstar Mahesh Babu who delivered it. Technically, he concentrated more upon his first half, its opening, settling, treatment and the various entertainment episodes to fill in that he actually had Options… No More but to give a plain and predictable Second Half. However, his treatment of the first half and the ‘short story’ technique of the hero are impressive.

First Half: As said earlier, Mahesh Babu’s body language, dialogues, dialogue delivery, punches and performance are the true highlights of this segment. However, Posani steals the show with his hilarious segment.

Interval Bang: This is the most ‘upgraded’ interval in the commercial films so far. Brahmaji’s dialogues are breathtaking. Though it is plain and predictable, it is slick and stylish as Mahesh Babu.

Second Half: Mahesh and Brahmi give their best to entertain you in this segment. Some songs and Mahesh dances can be of some relief here. But you have an overall experience of being in an elevator that drops down heavily to the ground floor from some 11th or 12th floor.

Merits:
- Mahesh Babu, Posani and Nassar performance.
- Tamannaah’s glamor.
- Punch dialogues by Anil Ravipudi, Upendra Madhav and Praveen Varma are the true highlights of the film.
- Top notch cinematography by Guhan.
- Some entertaining songs and Mahesh Babu dances.
- Some hilarious segments in the first half and the treatment.

De-merits:
- Same old story, formulae and screenplay.
- The second half relatively weighs down in terms of entertainment.

Thaman has given a chartbuster album which was picturized well. But he doesn’t amuse you much with respect to back ground score.

Shruti Haasan’s much awaited item number “Junction lo” gained huge response!

Aagadu is an outright, seamless, Punch-packed entertainer of the Super fans, for the Super fans and by the Superstar. You'll get whatever you want – be it entertainment or references! [Whoa… Even we too are getting Punch dialogues after watching this film...crazy!]
