Dollar Dreams story at a glance
The movie is set in 1999 when IT fever is top notch in Hyderabad. The movie is about 7 people, Balu, Ravi, Srinu, Singh, Archana and Priyanka who has the dollar dreams in their lives for some or other reasons. All the characters reflect the mind set of Telugu youth in the Pre-Y2K era.

Sekhar Kammula was not able to release the movie in theaters. The management of Sangeet Theater in Hyderabad agreed to screen the movie in their theatre at Rs 10,000 per show but was not interested in buying the film. Sekhar Kammula booked the theatre for one show a day for 30 days. -
