Peddannayya story at a glance
Peddannayya is an out and out family drama with good performances from the lead actors and the film’s essential natural touch in every scene made it a memorable film for Balakrishna in his acting career.
Story Details:
The film is set in the backdrop of a village where Ramakrishna Prasad (Balakrishna) is a powerful man who lives with joint family. He has genuine family values and all the family members follow his words with respect. Seetha (Roja) is an adorable woman who loves Ramakrishna Prasad and waits patiently for him to marry her. Ramakrishna Prasad on the other hand worries about his family and thinks of their settlement. He has three brothers (Balakrishna, Achyut and Rajkumar). His youngest brother Bhavani(Balakrishna) studies in town at medical college and he happens to marry a prostitute’s daughter (Indraja) without family’s permission. Rest of the film is about how Ramakrishna Prasad’s family fights over their troubles and questions the injustice happening in the village.
Performances:
Balakrishna is good in two roles he played- The title role of Peddannayya and the younger brother role of Bhavani. Roja is adorable as Seetha who waits sincerely for hero’s consent for marriage. Indraja is adequate as the female lead opposite Bhavani. Achyut, Rajkumar do well in the role of brothers to the hero. Annapurna is good in mother’s role. Brahmanandam offers comedy relief as Principal. Charan Raj is good as the villain in the film.
Technical Aspects:
Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers work well for village backdrop and questions on injustice. The punch dialogues appeal well to the mass audience. Music by Koti is good in commercial values. Direction by Sharath is very good and paced up without any dull moments.
