Yash Chopra to be honored

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema will honor the late filmmaker Yash Chopra with the label ‘Father of Contemporary Indian Cinema’ to be held from May 3rd 2013. The Victorian Government will present the nominal title of ‘Father of Contemporary Indian Cinema’ to Mrs. Pamela Yash Chopra. Speaking on the oaccasion Mrs. Chopra said “Yashji always looked for promoting Indian Cinema to the world and also this film festival. I’m happy to receive the award on behalf of him. I thank the festival dignitaries and the Victoria government for this wonderful gesture”.

The second Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will be held from May 3 – 22, 2013. This festival will see stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Prabhudeva in presence. Vidya Balan will act as an ambassador of the festival.
