‘Mayabazaar’ starring Nandamuri Tarakarama Rao, Akkineni Nageshwar Rao, S.V. Ranga Rao and Savitri in the lead roles is definitely the best film ever made on Tollywood screen. Now this film has been voted as the All-time Greatest film in a survey conducted by leading News broadcasting channel CNN-IBN. The film gathered 16,960 votes which was 23.91% of the total votes. Interestingly ‘Mayabzaar’ pushed Bollywood films like ‘Sholay,’ ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ behind and ranked at the first place.
Nagarjuna’s ‘Shiva’ was the only other Telugu film that was listed among the Top 10 films in this survey. Malayalam films ‘Manichitrathazhu’ and ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ were voted as second and third greatest Indian film of all time respectively.
