Kanyasulkam is a play written by Sri Gurazada Apparao in colloquial Telugu. It is the first play which deals with social issues in Telugu and is considered to be an all time classic in literary world. This play has inspired many works in cinema and theater, the latest of which can be seen on June 16 at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad.
As part of the annual event of celebrity theater festival, the play Kanyasulkam would be performed by artists comprising of popular Television and Film actors. Anchor Jhansi would be making her stage debut by playing the character of Madhuravani from the play and she will be accompanied by Uttej (as Gireesam), Rallapalli (as Lubdhavdhanlu) and GV Narayana Rao (as Karataka Sastry). Kanyasulkam, the play, is directed by Sri Deekshit.
