Passionate filmmaker Karan Johar had brought the remake rights of Thadaka (Vettai in Tamil) and he will be co-producing it in B-town along with UTV.

Vettai is a 2012 Tamil film directed by Linguswamy. This film starred Arya and Madhavan in lead roles. Later it was remade in Telugu by Kishore Kumar with Naga Chaitanya and Sunil.

The Hindi version of the film has been in news since some time now. Cast and crew about this project will be officially announced by the Bollywood producer in a short time.

“I was very impressed with the flick when I watched it, but I didn't know UTV was involved in it. I have now joined with them for the Hindi remake. We are in discussion with a couple of directors and actors. Things will be finalized sooner." Karan Johar said.
