He is a Composer… sorry a Lyricist…sorry a Performer…sorry a Rockstar…

Uff! What shall we call you Mr. Devi Sri Prasad…? Please recommend one.

What do we do! You are a multi-talented gifted individual for someone to fall short of adjectives.

Of course, fans have a sweet abbreviation for DSP
D – Dancer
S – Singer
P - Performer

And we have his name rightly reverberating all around from the past one month as his chartbuster albums Yevadu and Attarintiki Daaredi are really ‘Kiraak’. He is already having a fantabulous year with his previous albums Mirchi, Iddarammayilatho and Singham turning to be musical hits and blockbusters as well. Don’t know how DSP [Devi Sri Prasad] picks up the pulse of the changing Telugu audience over the years and still manages to tug the hearts of millions with his mesmerizing beats!

Well, he has been around for almost a decade now and dekho how he has evolved as an effervescent Rockstar who puts any stage ablaze! He brings in life to anything he does, be it a song he composes, a song he sings or a boring stage on which he performs. And you’ll be taken aback to know that this musical tsunami has cracked up with the Tamil pop album ‘Dance party’ before producer M.S. Raju spotted this aanewala kal ki Sangeeth Samrat and encouraged with Devi (1999). Anandam, Kalusukovalani, Khadgam and Manmadhudu were back-to-back hits to follow that shot him to fame and made him the most sought-after music composer in Tollywood and other woods as well. He rose to the level of composing music to a Megastar’s film like Shankardada MBBS. That was a simple test to DSP – he delivers an evergreen album! [“Shankardada MBBS hu..ha..hu..ha”]. Not only Tollywood alone, even Kollywood has been smitten by this DSP drug and there he is the Aaru music director, the Mallanna music director, the Singham music director and now the Badboys music director too.

We don’t find it to be a wonder if Universal hero Kamal Haasan asked him to re-record for his magnum opus Vishwaroopam -1 or Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan asked him to compose a song for his film [“Ringa Ringa…” in Ready] but strangely here is a music composer who is known for his melodies, fast beats, pathos songs and peppy numbers, intro songs and item numbers- what else and what not!

Now, he has been challenging established lyricists with his hit and bubbly songs like “Pilla…” in Gabbar Singh, “O Madhu…” in Julayi, “Shankarabharanamtho…” in Iddarammayilatho and recently “Ninnu Chudagane…” in Attharintiki Daredi. Ok…he composes, sings, dances and now he is even writing! Gosh…how can he be too good at everything he does! And he does everything that a typical Telugu hero is capable of. So, why not be a hero himself? Undoubtedly, he’ll definitely surprise us with a stunner one day!

We are only waiting for the day. As of now, he is coming up with half a dozen projects Bhai, 1, Rabhasa, Gabbar Singh 2, VV Vinayak film and Vinayagam Brothers (Tamil) this year and is gearing for his Malayalam debut project - he is totally occupied! We wish him to rule all the woods and make us proud evermore.

DSP Rocks!
