Bollywood film Chennai Express starring Sharukh khan and Deepika Padukone has hit screens today on occasion of Eid. It is all about the journey of a man from Mumbai to Rameshwaram, where he falls in love with the daughter of a local goon. The film resembles typical sambar and sandalwood creations in Rohit Shetty style and added South Indian flavor.

Though King Khan springs no surprise, he returns to his romantic self and plays the common man instead of a macho wooing his heroine and conventionally, Deepika Padukone, who was projected in South Indian tradition gets all praise from critics for her mature act.

The film features heroine as a Chennai lady and the star pair dance for ‘Lundi dance’, a tribute Superstar Rajinikanth. The reason why South India and especially Tamil Nadu audience were very keen about this flick. In addition to this, Vijay’s crazy project Thalaivaa didn’t release in Tamil Nadu due to some political issues which benefited the Chennai Express in Kollywood.

The film has been widely released in around 4200 screens in India and overseas, which includes 50+ countries. UTV Motion Pictures and Red Chilies claim the film is one of the biggest releases in the domestic as well as overseas markets. It has released in more theatres than any other Bollywood movie in the history of Indian cinemas overseas.
