Jr NTR’s newest film Ramayya Vastavayya’s audio is finally out. The film features Samantha and Shruthi Hassan in the lead and the music is composed by S.S.Thaman. Harish Shankar of Gabbar Singh fame is the director and the film is produced by ace producer Dil Raju. Here is iQlik exclusive review of the album:

The album begins with a breezy melody Jabilli Nuvve sung by Rahul Nambiar. The song promo was already released and was highly appreciated by the listeners. The song lives up the expectations and sung well. The laid back melody is equipped with good orchestration and the rhythm is steady paced- making it a winner! The interludes comprised with neat layers of flute, strings, accordion and piano. Lyrics by Ananth Sriram deserve a special mention.

Pandaga Chesko arrives next with slightly increased pace and energetic singing by the veteran singer K.K. The lyrics speak aggressively about the uplifting energy and the music follows the theme. However, the song is not equipped with too many instruments and makes it a pleasant hearing. The first interlude’s mandolin bit is another highlight of the song.  The second interlude has some desi beats coupled with Nadaswaram.

O Laila is the third track in the album with indigenous beats and power packed singing by Rahul again. The song features Young Tiger’s dialogues as well making it a story telling tool in the film.  It’s surely a fun filled and an enjoyable song.

Neneppudaina arrives in a catchy rhythm sung by veteran singers Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal next.  Shankar Mahadevan’s versatile voice does beyond justice for the song and Shreya joins with her voice wonderfully to the emotional melody.  Interludes act as beautiful transitional connections to the song with well equipped music bits.

Kurra Eedu is a sure shot Item song and carries the typical Thaman brand. Suchitra does her best for the song but it is however Shankar Mahadevan who adds the right flavors to the song.  Catchy interludes and an interesting follow rhythm make it a different Item Song in Tollywood till date.

The album comes to an end with the final revenge track Idhi Rana Rangam sung by Ranjith, Rahul and Naveen.  The song is fast paced and the singers do a great job with it. Good support of saxophone, string section and percussions make it an interesting listening.

Final Verdict:

Ramayya Vastavayya is a fairly good album with some surprises from Thaman. Good selection of singers, catchy tracks makes sure that Thaman is improving and getting the right balance of melody and commercialism in Music. The best picks are Jabilli Nuvve and Neneppudaina from the album.
