Tollywood Pays Tribute to Sri Hari

Family, friends and fans came together to give a farewell to Tollywood Real Star Srihari, who passed away yesterday at Lilavati Hospital due to liver cirrhosis. He was 49 and is survived by his wife Shanti and two sons. The last rites of Srihari, known to his fans as Sher Khan, were performed by his sons at the actor’s farm house in Bachupally, Hyderabad.

Tollywood and state political personalities including Dasari Narayana Rao, Mohan Babu, Chiranjeevi, Ramanaidu, Keshava Rao, Gaddar, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Brahmanandam were spotted at Srihari’s residence to pay homage. As condolences poured in from both the young and oldies of Telugu film industry, actors, producers, directors and technicians recalled the treasured memories of their association with Tollywood’s comedy-villain.

“It is indeed a very sad day for us and Tollywood lost a great artist and I have lost a lovely brother,” said his Megastar Chiranjeevi.

“A gentleman of the finest order, an admirable person, a thorough professional, a master of disguise in the characters he played and a considerate human being” is how producer Ramanaidu remembered Srihari.

Brahmanandam, who shared screen space with Srihari in many films, said actors like Srihari don’t come anymore.

‘I am completely shocked to hear the news of a great actor, good friend and a well wisher Srihari garu,’ said Jr NTR.

Tollywood yester-year actress Jayasudha said Srihari will remain in the hearts of many people who grew up with his support.

Superstar Krishna and Actor Jagapathi Babu said the Tollywood humble stalwart would be missed by everyone.

‘The demise of an actor like Srihari is a severe loss to the TFI and it is needless to say about his contribution to many successful films.  Right from his initial days, he was always a good disciple of me’ grieved Dasari Narayana Rao.

Many Tollywood celebrities had taken to twitter to express their grief following the actor’s sudden demise, hailing him as a Sher Khan and a key person of TFI, who shaped the lives of many B & C grade artists.

Actor Siddharth tweeted, “Shocked to hear that
Srihari garu has passed away. One of the kindest, most generous people in the Telugu film industry. Terrible loss.”

Devi Sri Prasad tweeted, “Totally shocked to know abt d sudden demise of Actor Srihari garu..!! So sad... May his soul R.I.P... May God giv Strength to his family...”

Manchu Manoj tweeted, “It's heartbreaking news ... Will miss srihari uncle ... May his soul rip... No words to express the pain.. We lost a family member.”

Tollywood music composer Thaman said his micro blogging site, “One of our most beloved actors, Sri Hari Garu leaves us. My prayers for his family, and may his soul rest in peace. He will be missed.”

Actress Samantha tweeted, “RIP Sri hari Garu... Strength to the family...”

In her tribute to the 49 year old stalwart, Lakshmi Manchu said, “We used to call him babai. He took us around hyd when we first moved here from Chennai. Always so affectionate. Rip Sher khan. #srihari :(:(

Kishan Reddy, state BJP president, tweeted, “Shocked to hear about sudden demise of actor Srihari garu. He was a fine actor who came up with lot of hard work. Condolences to his family.

Srihari, one of the successful artists in the Telugu film industry, appeared in over 100 films since the 1990s, essayed both negative and positive character roles with equivalent ease. The Tollywood actor received the Nandi Award from state government for his performance in Nuvvostavante Nenoddantana and he was last seen in Ram Charan’s Toofan. Srihari's bereavement is a great loss not only to his family but also for the TFI.
