End of 'The Good Road'

The Good Road, an Indian film will not be a contender at the 2014 Oscars anymore. It did not make it to the Oscars Best Foreign Language Film shortlist of nine films. Last month, "The Good Road" – the highway drama which deals with three sets of people who come cross each other on the movie's titular highway, was nominated to Oscars representing India.

The film also received many accolades and awards, including ‘Best Gujarati Film’ at 60th National Film Awards. "The Good Road" however, couldn’t clinch a spot in the Oscars Best Foreign Film shortlist of nine films.

The nine films were selected from a list of 76 movies declared in October by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences which manages Hollywood's biggest annual awards festival. The finalized list will be further compiled to five nominees and will be declared in the month of January 2014.

Directed by Dyan Corrrea, starring Ajay Gehi and Sonali Kulkarni, The Good Road was released on 19th July.
