Autonagar Surya is an upcoming Political Thriller film starring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha in the lead roles. It is directed by Prasthanam fame Deva Katta and the music is composed by Anoop Rubens. Dialogue King Saikumar and Venkatadri Express fame RakulPreet Singh are acting in pivotal roles in this anticipated film. Here is an iQlik exclusive music review of the album:
Time Entha Ra: The album begins with “Time Entha Ra…” which starts with a dialogue exchange in prelude leading to a soothing piano and string section. Sung by the composer Anoop Rubens himself, the song progresses in a conversational fashion making it an interesting listening.The track carries an Arabic flavor throughout.
Mancheli: “Mancheli…” arrives next in a breezy style with a typical Anoop Ruben mark. Songs of this kind are so typical of Anoop Rubens albums. The guitar is lilting and a great bass work adds much value to the composition. The track sails offin a splendid progressive rock feel in the charanam making it a sure shot winner in the album!

Autonagar Brahmi: The album takes a comic leap with “Autonagar Brahmi…” which features comedians Brahmanandam and VenuMadhav, who also lend their voices for this song. The rhythm takes the track forward with some great electric guitar feast for the listener. The lyrics by AnanthSriram about automobile mechanics is yet another asset for the track.
Sura Sura: “Sura Sura…” is a power packed track with great jazzy touches and rhythm throughout its progress. The track strikes a balance between a romantic melody and an aggressive anthem which is indeed a good experiment.
Hyderabadi Biryani: Missing something? Well the album gets the inevitable ‘item song’ touch with “Hyderabadi Biryani…” with local percussions. The string section is almost inaudible in the track. Doesn’t make much appeal either. [And please don't be surprised if you feel you have heard this tune sometime back!]
Ayudham: “Ayudham…” is an aggressive anthem with great electric guitar feast and some thought provoking lines spoken by the director Deva Katta himself.
Auto Nagar Surya Theme: The album comes to an end with “Auto Nagar Surya Theme….” with great string section and funky bass guitars and makes it another worth hearing track.
Verdict:
Auto Nagar Surya is a decent album from Anoop Rubens. Good orchestration, breezy melodies and the brilliant theme track makes it a good hearing. But perhaps the main problem is Anoop singing most of the songs- irrespective of the genre making it hard for the listener to distinguish between the moods of the tracks.
