He is a perfect package of handsomeness, action, sentiment, body language, dance and many – the Perfect Superstar material! The Telugu actor is now a brand for the nation and his whopping remuneration mimics his star status.

Now, he is one of the most recognized south Indian actors because of his endorsements and star power and he is undeniably the most powerful mover and shaker of Tollywood. The actor received many awards and gazillion accolades for his act which is above and beyond the call of duty. Today, we will take you back to the 5 ‘Du’s that changed his career. These are titles of his films which end up with the word ‘Du’. Though the Du scheme started off casually, it is now a sentiment for the fans and aficionados.

The following 5 ‘Du’s have certainly shot Superstar Mahesh Babu into the brigade of top actors in south.

1. Rajakumarudu
Mahesh Babu’s first feature film Rajakumarudu in which he shared the screen space with Bollywood dimple girl Priety Zinta has won him a Nandi Award for Best Male debut. Rajakumarudu established Mahesh Babu as a lover boy and was a commercial success too.

2. Okkadu
The movie that shot him into fame was one of his finest performances. Mahesh Babu’s first film with Gunashekar and it bagged 8 Nandi awards and 5 Film fare awards including Best actor for Mahesh. The film is now getting remade into Hindi as Tevar. Okkadu has raked in a box-office share of Rs. 25 Crore.

3. Athadu
If there is any film that is worth watching any number of times on our TV, it’s probably Mahesh Babu-Trivikram’s Athadu. The film has performed extremely well at US box-office and astonishingly MAA TV has renewed its television rights for a whopping Rs. 3.5Crore. Mahesh won his third Nandi award for this film after Rajakumarudu and Nijam. Mahesh’s performance in the film was highly acclaimed by detractors too.

4. Sainikudu
Sainikudu has eventually proved that Superstars do evolve starring in experimental films. It was the most-prestigious film from Ashwini Dutt’s production house Vyjayanthi Movies. However, Sainikudu was the follow up for Mahesh’s prior blockbuster Pokiri; it couldn’t catch up the audience expectations.

5. Dookudu
The movie is a Mahesh Babu’s One Man show and this Srinu Vaitla directorial venture is an All-time blockbuster that has rewritten many records of TFI. Dookudu created sensation even at US box office and it became the first Telugu movie to cross the $1 million mark. Dookudu had even bagged 7 Nandi awards and 10 Film fare awards for the year 2011.

Aagadu - Following these five DUs’, yet another film entitled Aagadu starring Mahesh Babu and Tamannah Bhatia is on its way. Let’s wait and see what kind of magic this sixth ‘Du’ is going to create!
