Maine Pyar Kiya is an upcoming romantic film starring Pradeep Betno and Isha Talwar in the lead roles. The film is directed by Pradeep and Music for the film is composed by Pradeep Kumar. Here is an iQlik exclusive review of the album:

The album begins with an uplifting track Kadhalakunda with good percussions and mellowed string section.  The incredible modern jazz influence is evident in the track throughout. However, the track retains the nativity through the vocalist’s great rendition. The touch of harmonica in rightful places makes it an enjoyable hearing.

In contrast to an uplifting beginning, a melancholic track Ee Prema Manakoddhu arrives which has an irresistible influence of the chartbuster “Why this Kolaveri Di”. However, the orchestration and electric guitar touches make it unique in its own regard. The interludes are made interesting with bass work and harmonium touches with good timing.

Swaase Nuvve arrives with feel good melodious touch equipped with high energy percussions which sound like Trance genre. The breeziness is greatly present throughout the track making it a pleasant composition. The electric guitar solo is brilliantly made use giving it a Classic Rock feel as well.

After energy filled track, it is time for a feel good solo Ningilona composed amidst string section, mellowed chorus and beautiful percussions. The beautiful tune is supported well with impactful lyrics and the overall ambience of the track is brilliantly presented. Interludes are mellifluous with acoustic guitar and some great bits to look for.

Another trance styled track Adigindhe arrives with great ease. Despite the paced up tempo, the track retains fantastic classicism in terms of the tune as well as the mellowed orchestration. The keyboard touches, with recurring rhythm and great string section makes it a fantastic hearing. The usage of Sitar in second interlude is another highlight of the track.

The breeziness of overall album is retained with Ningilona (Female) which is as captivating as the previous version. The lilting lead vocals add sweetness to the composition supported well by beautiful chorus.  However, the pace slows down in this track and minimal orchestration adds to the uniqueness of the track. The violin solo is so brilliantly presented which shows the competence of the composer.

The album comes to an end with Pandu’s Theme- a funky instrumental with Hip-Hop styled composing and great mixing.  The dialogues are woven well in the midst of galvanizing orchestration blended with Modern Jazz Saxophone.

Verdict:
Maine Pyaar Kiya is a surprisingly refreshing album from Pradeep Kumar. The freshness, confidence and impact is clearly reflected in every composition, and the composer has to be appreciated for blending multiple genres such as Modern Jazz, Carnatic, Classic Rock and Hip-Hop without losing the pristine nativity of Telugu Songs.

Rating: 3.25/5
