V.V.Vinayak is one unique director in Telugu Cinema who redefined the commercial dimensions of film making. His films are power packed with electrifying fights, chases and punch dialogues. The director is quite happy with his latest film Alludu Seenu completing the production work and getting for release. He is launching ace producer Bellamkonda Suresh’s son Sreenivas in this film. On that account, here is an exclusive chit chat with the energetic director:

Hello Vinayak Garu..
Hi…

Is there any reason behind the film being named Alludu Seenu?
The Hero in this film is an orphan. Prakash Raj character takes care of him and calls him ‘Alludu’ with fondness and that’s how the title came up. There is a comedy dialogue about this as well saying ‘Amma Rajaeskhar, Thammudu Satyam undaga lenidhi Alludu Seenu unte tappa?’ which feature Brahmanandam and Sreenivas. That’s how we tried to justify the title.

Tell us more about the filming aspects of Alludu Seenu..
The film has been made with a great quality team. Bellamkonda Suresh garu is known for making films with outstanding production values. Everything worked well for this film with great star cast like Prakash Raj,Samantha and Tamannah. The locations are really rare and never explored by Telugu Filmmakers till date. I am happy that everything happened as per our plan.

Any memorable moments from the filming of Alludu Seenu?
One day, I was reading a magazine and happened to see a photo of a location in the travel feature. The place was breathtaking with colorful lighting. I became curious about the place and found out that it is in Europe. I wanted to shoot a song in this place and when enquired, we came to know it is open only on certain time and only for 15 days duration. We rushed to the place all the way from India and had a memorable time filming there under chilling temperatures and standing against all odds.

They say, you are launching Bellamkonda Sreenivas out of sheer obligation- Your comment?
Nothing like that. Bellamkonda Suresh gave me life and I saw this guy and his performance. He is definitely a star material. Initially I was wondering about his strengths but when we did a trail shoot featuring him with Samantha, I felt his charm and grew confident. He excelled in every department as per my expectations. I’m sure he will become a good hero.

This is your first film with Samantha.  Your experience working with Sam…
After working with her in this film, I understood why she is the most admired and sought-after heroine in the industry. She is a dedicated and professional actress. In a location at Europe, we were shooting for a scene in which she had to wear a light outfit. The temp was hitting minus centigrade and we were shivering like hell. Samantha was wrapped up with five blankets and when the shot was ready she went off with confidence and outperformed. Amazing performer and human being.

Tamannah is featured in an item song for this film. How was it working with her again after Badrinath?
We wanted to have a special attraction for the film. I asked Tamannah out of the rapport we had in Badrinath. She accepted my request without further ado. I really thank her for accepting my offer.

You already share two hits with DSP earlier namely Adhurs and Bunny. How was it working with him for the third time?
He always gave me some extraordinary music. We share a good sync together. I am quite happy with the music and re-recording of Alludu Seenu. Even you will enjoy Sreenivas’ dances in the film.

Can the audience expect your trademark chases and action sequences in this film?
To be frank, I decided not to have any sumo blast shots, and chases for this film. But when we went for filming in Abu Dhabi, an immigration officer who got to know I was around through the crew, approached me and eagerly asked how many chases or fights are there in this film. I was wondered that even a classy man like the immigration officer expects mass oriented stuff like chases and fights from my films and I also realised that I should not ignore what people expect from me. Thanks to him I added a special chase sequence in the climax, especially for people like the officer. Coming to the film’s genre, it is an out and out entertainer. The second half is a laugh riot for forty five minutes. The audience will thoroughly enjoy the film.

Are you going to work with Chiranjeevi for his anticipated 150th film?
I was considered for it. However, they are still hearing stories and I have been in touch with them throughout. If they get a better story maybe things can be different. As of now, I am hopeful that I would be doing it.

Your Upcoming projects?
I am going to open a production house in 2015 or 2016. The production house will focus on small budget films promoting new talents and good stories.

Okay, thank you and wish you the very best for Alludu Seenu!
Thanks a lot!
