According to latest film nagar reports, efforts are being made to remake the 2009 super hit Bollywood film Dev D, directed by the maverick Anurag Kashyap starring Abhay Deol. This is the modern-day take on the classic Bengali novel Devdas. The film was critically acclaimed winning 1 National Award and 5 Filmfare Awards. It was a decent commercial success too. Besides the movie’s whacky take, the song “Emotional Attyachar” became famous all over the nation.
Now with the changing trend in Telugu cinema, Akkineni family members wish to remake this film, as per sources. Sushanth or Sumanth might feature in this remake and some clarity over this is expected very soon. Cine pundits opine that this films suits Sumanth more than Sushanth given his image and taste.
However, adapting and remaking this film is quite a challenge for Telugu filmmakers and we should eagerly look forward to see who that talented director is!
