If you are aspiring to be a singer in films then it is obvious that you would want to do many years of practice and develop the skill of voice modulation along with grip over the Sapta Swaraalu i.e Sarigamapadani. But in the modern times, all this is not required. As per the cine seniors, having basic sense of singing is enough.

If there is sufficient talent and skill to sing and croon, that would be sufficient. The reason for that is technology. Now, different softwares have come such as auto tuner wherein the tone will be metallic but all drawbacks in voice get removed and the output is perfect. Any voice which is not really melodious can be changed.

This is one reason why many star heroes could also lend their voice. For instance, Ravi Teja sang in Power, Pawan Kalyan sang in Attarintiki Daredi, Jr NTR sang in Rabhasa. Few years back, even Chiranjeevi sang in Master and Mrugaraaju. Of course, technology was not that great then but it was Mani Sharma who used his skills and fine-tuned Chiru’s voice. For that matter, even Nag sang a song in Sitarama Raju. So, if you want to be a singer then all you need is that stroke of luck to get an opportunity and you are set.
