‘Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.’- These are the words of the famous Greek philosopher and mathematician Plato. And if one can vouch for his words then it is Maestro Ilaiyaraaja.

For many decades, Ilaiyaraaja’s tunes have swayed millions across the globe and that’s how he earned the title of ‘Isai Gnani’. But now, one statement by a senior filmmaker is creating ripples. He is none other than R Balki and he has reportedly declared that music composed by Ilaiyaraaja for his new movie Shamitabh will be the best in the maestro’s career.

Will it be that great? Quoting that it would be the best in his career would be an exaggeration. Many feel though Ilaiyaraaja is doing so many movies he is not able to cross the tunes he composed in 80s and 90s. But if he has really surpassed that legacy of chartbusters in Shamitabh then it sure is going to shock the entire nation. The film releases on February 6th, 2015.
