When it comes to Film events of Tollywood happening abroad, they are very rare. There is SIIMA (South India International Movie Awards) for the films and recently GAMA (Gulf Andhra Music Awards) was launched for choosing the best among the music makers and song writers.
The craze has already been there for the celebrations which take place in TANA, NATS in the USA. At the moment, a lot of lobbying has begun for the GAMA event which is scheduled to take place in Dubai. It is heard that many singers and lyricists from Tollywood are competing with each other to be there.
The event is due to take place in January and some of the big bosses of Tollywood are being flooded with requests and pleas for getting the entry. Apparently, the members feel achieving an award or recognition on an international platform always builds a strong brand image for them, hence these lobbying attempts.
