It is always said that Comedy is one of the toughest genres in acting. It is not an easy job to make the audience laugh heartily. Lot of sincerity, dedication and confidence is needed for doing so. One such actor who never failed in creating a comic impact on the audience was Amanchi Venkata Subhramanyam (A.V.S). Though there are many comedians who graced the Telugu Silver Screen, A.V.S could make his own presence felt for nearly two decades.

A.V.S was introduced into Telugu Cinema by artistic director Bapu in Rajendra Prasad, Amani starrer Mister Pellam during the year 1993. His performance in the film as innocent son of a businessman uttering the word “Tutthi” was highly admired and appreciated by the audience.  He bagged the Nandi Award as a debutant.  With a superb start, A.V.S never looked back in his career as a Comedian by starring in most of EVV Satyanarayana and S.V.Krishna Reddy’s films.  His appearance as the funny villain with shaven head in Ghatotkachudu is best remembered for his one liner “Rangu Paduddhi!”. Nobody can forget his portrayal as the temporary blinded man while the silent thief played by Brahmanandam evokes laughter in Vinodam. Till date, A.V.S is best remembered for his peculiar and funniest role portrayals.

He continued to generate laughter even in the 2000s decade by appearing as the innocent tourist “Peda Picchayya” from Tenali in Chiranjeevi’s Indra. AVS shared a brilliant comic timing with veteran comedians like Brahmanandam, Kota Srinivasa Rao as well as younger lot like Ali and Venu Madhav. Another noted role of A.V.S came from Srinu Vaitla’s laugh riot Venky in which he is seen as the arrogant passenger “Bokka”.

iQlikmovies remembers the noted actor on his birth anniversary and his absence is sure a great loss for the Telugu Film industry.
