Ahoy! Aamir Khan’s PK (Peekay) becomes the first Indian film to mint about Rs 620 crores at the box-office.

This can be a GK bit and let’s not be surprised if this is asked in Kaun Banega Corepati or Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu very soon.

Well, this Aamir Khan starrer is estimated to achieve this feat right after the first show talk. The film emerged to be a genuine hit and the “ban” claims and other controversies only added to the collections of the movie. According to trade sources, PK has collected Rs 620 crores worldwide so far [Rs 324 crores + Rs 153 crores overseas]. As expected, PK surpassed Aamir Khan’s earlier action thriller Dhoom 3’s record of Rs 543 crores (worldwide) emerging as the first Indian movie ever to have accomplished this milestone.

Till date, the Mr. Perfectionist has 3 films (PK, Dhoom 3 & 3 Idiots) in the prestigious 300C club and he is only breaking and setting new records. PK is 620 not out now and the curiosity whether it shall reach the magical 650 and 700 mark still prevails. However, trade pundits opine that the 650 milestone is quite imminent but 700 is quite a far off fruit as of now.

But the fact that a sensible film turning out to be a path breaking commercial hit is instilling new spirit in filmmakers and movie lovers. Cheers to PK success!
