Dohchay is an upcoming entertainer starring Naga Chaitanya and 1-Nenokkadine fame Kriti Sanon in lead roles. The film is directed by Swamy Raa Raa fame Sudhir Varma who stunned the audience with his novel presentation and taking. Music for the film is composed by the talented Sunny MR and here is an iQlik exclusive audio review of the album:

The album welcomes the listener with an experimental track Nachithe Ye Panaina sung by supremely talented Arijit Singh. It has the best of every entertaining genre one can ask for- let it be Jazz, Chillout, Hip-Hop garnished delicately with western classical symphony touches. The entire composition gives a brilliant feel and fresh aura which is class apart from regular commercial albums in Telugu.

The composer continues the experimentation in duets as well with Okkariki Okkaram comprising of husky vocals by Nivas and Shalmali Kholgade. The singers sound too jazzy to get pleased by and gripping rhythm just adds the icing on the cake. The vogue rhythm section and superior interludes provide the much needed aspects for this composition.

It is time now to get more introspective with a hard hitting solo Ranaa sung once gain by Arijit Singh. The velvety feel of the composition is hard to explain by and it gets even better with the heavy sounding electric guitars. Lyrics by Krishna Kanth get to its philosophical best and cater their best to the track.

Haayi Haayi is a track which makes complete justice to its title by sounding flawlessly pleasant and fun filled. The occasional harmonica touches supported by mouth organ give it a 60s American Country song flavor. The simple yet brilliant lyrics by Krishna Chaitanya make it a sure shot winner!

The album shifts its gears to funky mode with Aanati Devadasu sung confidently by Shalmali Kholgade. The blending of pathos trumpets to a trendy modern jazz in the prelude is something commendable. The composition speaks and breathes of funkiness throughout its progress without going low on the melody factor.

Things get beyond hilt when What is This Bossu, an experimental folk number arrives in the vocals of the composer Sunny MR and folk singing sensation Anthony Dassan deliver their best. The funky beats are gelled well with apparently old school sequencing with superior perfection. Despite the limited layering in terms of orchestration, it does present the emotion in a right manner.

The experimentation lessons take a new meaning with He is Mr.Mosagadu having a thumping blend between angry Jazz, crazy house mix and Indian melody- three unpredictable genres in one single composition! This track would be talk of the town for its new horizons of experimentation in mainstream Telugu film album!

The title track Dohchay is a sure shot experimental number which speaks about stealing in glamorous terms and the spooky instrumentation adds an extra layer of fun to it. The groovy sequencing and gradually rising tempo is just one example of the brilliant aspect of the track.

It is time for a fitting finale with Villain which sounds nothing like the title! The track has country styled guitars, dew drop strings and feel good vocals by Pardha Saradhy which speak about the hidden side of a villain in musical terms!

Verdict:
Dohchay is a fantastic album from the classy combination of Sudhir Varma and Sunny MR. The duo strike again with another stunning piece of work which is no less in trendiness!
