Comments/statements of celebrities are often taken very seriously and those of revered personalities do carry a lot of weight.

Before movie reviewers could forget the comments of actress and filmmaker Suhasini ManiRatnam, maverick director Mani Ratnam expressed  his views over Censor Board and censorship in India.

He opines that Censorship was something devised by the British during their colonial rule to regulate content against them but our Censorship module is the same right from then.

He thinks our filmmakers are mature enough to make films responsibly with self censorship and today's audience knows what good and what's not. He added that the Censor board deciding for the audience is no more relevant and legitimate.

Well this might not go well with the conventional sect of people who believe otherwise but these comments coming from a maverick like Mani Ratnam are the latest talk of the town.

Meanwhile Mani Ratnam, A R Rahman, Nitya Menen, Prakash Raj, Dil Raju and others were here in Hyderabad for the audio success meet of Ok Bangaram. The movie is all set to release this 17th of April. Watch the rest in the theatres.
