Kalyan Ram long back declared that this year is going to be the ‘Nandamurinama Samvatsaram’ and much according to his confidence, Pataas turned out to be a hit and subsequently NTR’s Temper as well. Both the films have resurrected the careers of the Nandamuri heroes but the man in form by then was Nandamuri Balakrishna alone.

His previous film Legend running for about a record 400 days, his latest outing Lion had the bar sky high to meet. Well, Lion that released this May 14 has opened to a lukewarm response. According to the trade pundits, NBK’s Lion minted about Rs 5.8 crores (TG+AP) on the first day [Nizam – Rs 1.6, Andhra – Rs 2.9 crores, Ceeded – Rs 1.3 crores]. This is a decent figure given the current market scenario but analysts say Lion fails to recreate the impact that Legend created at the box-office on the first day.

As per trade pundits, Legend opened to a staggering Rs 6.9 crores in united Andhra Pradesh on the first day which Lion could not beat due to obvious reasons. Let’s see if Lion shall pick up down the lane.
