Are you familiar with Tamil? Then you would know that Appa is the word for father and even in Telugu, we use it to call someone affectionately. But right now, this Appa is making a lot of discussion because it has become the title of a film along with some misinterpretations as well.

The eccentric genius Ram Gopal Varma is now busy in Sandalwood and he has titled his next Kannada project as Appa. Many who are in the Baahubali hangover didn’t go through much details about the project and they are saying RGV got inspired from Baahubali’s character Kattappa for the title.

But here is the actual truth. This Appa is coming from the name of Muttappa Rai, a retired mafia don in Karnataka whose name sent goosebumps for a long time. Sources say RGV is planning to come up with a movie based on his life and this would be made in Kannada and Hindi.
