Some of you may call it a sentiment and some of you may call it a coincidence but then a peculiar trend is being observed in Tollywood with regards to film titles. This has to do with branded star heroes doing movies with festival names as titles. The outcome of this at the box office has been mixed.
For instance, victory Venkatesh did the film Sankranti which got a very good response. The noted director/actor S V Krishna Reddy did Ugadi which didn’t work. During the black and white, Nata Samrat Akkineni Nageswara Rao did Dasara Bullodu which became a blockbuster hit and also a trendsetter.
Nata Kireeti Rajendra Prasad did the movie Maha Sivaratri and it turned out to be an average fare. Uday Kiran did Holi and it became a disaster. Nandamuri Kalyanram came up with Vijaya Dasami and it didn’t work. Now, the noted hero Sunil is doing a movie titled as Krishnashtami so let us wait to see how this works.
