Megastar Chiranjeevi is naturally an inspiration to his son Mega Powerstar Ram Charan as well. Cherry is an obvious heir to Chiru’s legacy, hence his larger-than-life mass image. While the Megastar is making a comeback after a long while, Cherry kept doing films that impress his fans. But the star duo is trying out something different now.
Now industry onlookers opine that Chiru & Cherry are following the same strategy doing remakes (Chiru’s Katthi remake & Cherry’s Thani Oruvan remake). Usually remakes are adapted to the regional nativity and the corresponding star hero’s image (especially in Telugu film industry) but the Mega heroes have apparently suggested their respective directors to keep it close to the originals. Chiru has successfully remade many super hits but this is perhaps for the first time, Cherry is doing a remake.
Especially after witnessing remakes like Oopiri working in the Telugu industry, the Mega heroes have apparently taken a lesson here. Now, they want their projects to retain the soul of the original without inessential add-ons.
While Katthilantodu is a tentative title doing rounds in the film circles for Katthi remake, Cherry’s Thani Oruvan remake is titled Dhruv. Both the projects will board the sets very soon. Keep watching the space for more updates.
