Nagarjuna-Karthi starrer Oopiri (Thozha in Tamil) movie turned out to be a memorable hit in the careers of both Nagarjuna & Karthi.
Well this remake of the French film The Intouchables was receivedwell both in Tamil & Telugu. This film not only marks the successful debut of Karthi but indeed the highest grosser in Nag’s career.
As per latest trade reports, Oopiri + Thozha final collections finished close to Rs 100 Cr club. It recorded Rs 41.80 Cr (gross) in the two Telugu states (AP & TS), Rs 27.10 Cr in (gross) Tamil Nadu, Rs 1.35 Cr in Kerala, Rs 2.80Cr in Rest of India, Rs10.85 Cr in USA and the rest of the world – Rs 3.60 Cr.
The overall gross collections are estimated to be Rs 97.80Cr and it missed the magical Rs 100Cr mark marginally. We need to wait and see if Oopiri can crack it anytime soon.
Anyways PVP Cinema is the happiest producer having made a commercial successful yet a heart-touching film like Oopiri.
