The unique filmmaker of yesteryear era Dasari Narayana Rao is known for strong characterizations, brilliant storytelling and impressive subject choices on screen. But off the megaphone, the director is a strong and influential personality who doesn’t hesitate to criticize the happenings in Tollywood. Once, he made it to the news by commenting on actresses who fail to attend award functions but take time to attend shop opening ceremonies leading to the anger of Ram Charan.

During the audio release function of a small budget movie named Kottha Kotthaga Unnadhi, Dasari Narayana Rao took the opportunity to comment on audio release events of big films where it has become like a flaunting celebration. He also questioned what is the need for needless dance performances for a function which should be centered on music and lyricist.

He said that the big filmmakers are creating unnecessary hype by lavish posters and promotional techniques, while they fail to focus on the main audio event. The director had the audacity to compare the audio functions to Jaathara- a term used to describe a messy celebration!
