Controversial film personality Ram Gopal Varma is facing the heat for allegedly poking fun of Lord Ganesha during Ganesh Chaturthi in 2014. In connection with the same RGV has been issued with legal notices.
Going into the details, Viveck Shetty (MD of Indus Communications and Head of Media Cell, Consumer Guidance Society of India) has filed a complaint against Ram Gopal Varma under IPC and IT Act alleging that his tweets on the physical attributes of Lord Ganesha questioning his abilities is hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. A Mumbai Magistrate Court has issued a legal process against RGV ordering him to appear in court or respond by July 19.
Though this is expected, can these stop someone like Varma who is known for his provocative tweets and devil-may-care attitude?
