After Bollywood, it is Tollywood which is the largest in Indian cinema so the business dynamics of this is quite important. As of today, the first half of 2016 has come to an end so it is time to have a look at the industry has fared so far. The statistics have given an interesting information.
A total of 90 straight Telugu releases took place during the first half and along with them a total of 34 dubbed movies released. Among them, only 14 straight releases along with 2 dubbed movies made money at the box office. So, out of 124, only 16 movies have actually worked.
This goes to show what kind of success percentage is getting recorded. A deeper analysis would show there are various reasons behind the failures of certain promising projects but at the end of the day, the final results matter. Let us wish things improve during the second half.
