The brilliant filmmaker Tharun Bhascker Dhassyam made it big in the debut feature film Pelli Choopulu after a successful stint in short film arena.The film was heaped with praises from all sections of the audience and launched a talented comedian Priya Darshi to the film industry. The lead actors Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma also earned good name for their work.
On the eve of the film completing 50 days of successful run, the director took a moment to relish the moments which he faced during the film’s release. The director said that there were many obstacles during the film’s release time and many thrashed it saying it wouldn’t work. He expressed sadness that the film was called a “Small Film” which sounded downright derogatory to him.
The director continued saying that many obstacles in the form of caste, regionalism which pulled his confidence down to the ground. Nevertheless, he said that the film’s success speaks for itself and a great answer to all those folks who strongly believed the film wouldn’t work!
