It is true that the eccentric genius Ram Gopal Varma lost his mark of brilliance as a filmmaker in the last few years but it is also true that this has never fazed the admiration and respect for him as a trendsetting moviemaker. Even today, he does show those flashes of brilliance.
For instance, no other director can be as accurate as RGV in picking up actors who resemble real life characters. But in the recent past, RGV did that twice. He chose Sundeep Bharadwaj as the forest brigand Veerappan for his film Killing Veerappan.
And then he chose Sandeep as Vangaveeti Radha/Ranga for the movie Vangaveeti. And here is another interesting observation. The names of both these men are Sandeep and RGV was able to bring lookalike heroes for back to back ventures. This is a record in itself.
