Tubelight Story:

Set up on the backdrop of 1962 Sino - Indian war, the film Tubelight is the story of Laxman Singh Bisht (Salman Khan), a very good person and who is a child at heart sets on a mission to find his brother Bharat (Sohail Khan) during the war time. The film depicts the lives of the people who get affected when their countries go to war.

Tubelight Review:

Tubelight is the nickname that people give to Salman Khan and all in all, the film comes as a big surprise for the audiences. Because the film fails to impress the audiences. Salman Khan films always have some credibility but this time, he completely failed to entertain the audiences leaving an impression that the actor has tasted a flop during the Eid season after a while. The film was inspired by a Hollywood film Little Boy directed by Alejandro Monteverde. The makers tried to recreate the emotions of that Hollywood film and story but they completely failed in doing so.

The film that was set in Jagatpur, a pretty North-Indian town, during the Indo-China war, has a lot of things to tell to the audiences but all of them were told in an irritating manner that the audiences lose their patience in the beginning itself. The makers have been promoting the film as it has a war backdrop which in return raised the expectations on the war sequences but the sad part is that all of the war sequences are poorly mounted and they evoked no emotion because the filmmaker failed to recreate the magic in writing. There are a lot of things that the film tries to tell which are the values of family, faith and patriotism.

The convincing part of the film is missing completely. There is not a single point in the film that has come out in a convincing manner. Salman Khan has impressed us with an emotional touch to his performance in his previous films and he tried to do the same with this film as well but the script does not demand him to put out his emotion wherever he wants and this is a reason why people can hate Salman in the movie. The mass appeal of Salman Khan in the film is missing completely. Though the film has a great star and some high technical standards, the soul is missing in the right places which have caused the reason for the film's disappointment.

The budget that the filmmakers brought in for the project is completely interesting. Kabir Khan is the writer and director of the film. Kabir Khan is certainly a brilliant filmmaker but he has not prepared the script for this one in an interesting manner. The screenplay looks boring and pale. The dialogues written by Manurishi Chadha are good. The audio album scored by Pritam is good. The background Score by Julius Packiam fails to impress. The Cinematography by Aseem Mishra is impressive. The editing by Rameshwar S. Bhagat is okay. The production values of Salman Khan Films and Kabir Khan Films are grand.

Tubelight Verdict:

The film Tueblight has everything that contributes for success but it misses the story which is the heart and soul for any film. Salman Khan also failed to make an impression with the film.
