Though cinema is one medium where expression of thoughts and creative freedom should not be restricted, Indian cinema has always maintained a decorum when it comes to showing vices. The censor board has been tough on scenes and even filmmakers adhered to it.
However, the Tollywood circuit seems to be witnessing a new trend. There is a lot of smoking scenes in recent releases. For instance, in Nene Raju Nene Mantri both the towering hunk Daggubati Rana and the juicy seductress Catherine are continuously smoking.
Now, in the upcoming release Arjun Reddy a lot of smoking scenes are reportedly present. Similarly, in ‘Paisa Vasool’ Nandamuri Natasimham Balakrishna is also seen smoking. In the black and white era this used to be lot and now it seems to have come back in a big way. Just putting a disclaimer below in tiny font would do the needful so no problem.
