The weekend that has gone by has seen some releases and since the summer has set in, many were expecting the business to pick up because, during this time, even an average movie gets a decent response. However, it appears that the audience has become quite choosy and demanding and they are giving thumbs up only if there is stuff in the film.
Last Friday saw the release of three movies. Most promising among them happens to be ‘Kirrak Party’ featuring the vibrant hero Nikhil Siddhartha. Though the first day saw good openings, the film could not sustain the youth and college crowd because of boring second half and familiar content. The week started very dry for this movie.
Another contender was ‘Kartavyam’ featuring the gracious beauty Nayanthara and this happened to be a dubbed flick. Though the promotions were good and the film became a hit in Tamil, it failed to draw the audience to the theatres and became a disaster. Another movie which followed suit is ‘Dandupalyam 3’ which is also a dubbed Kannada movie. So, get set for next Friday folks
